The conference committee has put together an exciting program of workshops and sessions. Will Richardson, Jan Thomas, and Lesléa Newman are the featured speakers. Workshop and session topics include readers’ advisory, advocacy, selection procedures, Web 2.0 tools, information literacy, collaboration, the Common Core standards, and many other valuable topics.
Join me Friday at 9:30 a.m. for a panel discussion session entitled ISLMA 2.0. Patti Fleser, Heidi Uphoff, Pam McDermott and I will discuss Facebook, Twitter, Wikis, blogs and all sorts of other ways ISLMA is communicating. We’d like to know what you’re looking for from ISLMA–come join the discussion!
As president of ISLMA, one of my goals is to provide more opportunities for members to network. New this year to conference is the ISLMA Meet and Greet–I hope to see you there! Snacks and a cash bar will be available in the Pre-Function area on the second floor from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Move from the Meet and Greet directly to the Exhibits Grand Opening and see what the vendors have to offer you!
Conferences provide opportunities for all of us to network, make new friends, and renew old acquaintances. Don’t be shy–strike up a conversation with someone next to you! And don’t forget to use social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to stay in touch.
Enjoy the conference and have fun!
